This is not an UPGRADE: The Old vs The New
Below is a comparison between the previous eVisa system that has been de-commissioned and the currently running eVisa system
Snapshot of the Cambodia e-Visa system before 28th June, 2008

In this snapshot, all translations is working perfectly.

In the current system screenshot at 28th June 2008, 1932hrs, the translations is totally messed up with gibberish text.

Error messages in the previous system appears correctly and is in perfect alignment.

The error messages displayed in the new system is evidently an attempt to duplicate the design from the previous system.

The screenshot above shows the previous system’s Flash animation that showcases customers feedbacks.

In the current eVisa system, a new flash animation with a reduced size is used.

The Check and Change feature does not working anymore.
In the previous system, the Check and Change enables applicant to edit their eVisa certificates.
In the current system, it’s not working at all. Error messages shown are not relevant to the occuring errors. Also note the email address shown above in the screenshot above- cambodia.visa@gmail.com. We are not sure why the proper government-authorized email is not being used.
Is WeLoveCambodia.com Authentic and Legitimate?
If you have any doubts on the legitimacy of this blog, please check out the following comments from previous eVisa applicants.
Please note that these comments are left on this blog prior to the previous eVisa system being removed on the 28th June 2008.
Jasa:
2008-06-01 19:57:39 I found the e-Visa extremely efficient and promising. I have just returned from Siem Reap, and can confirm that all counters (despite only one labelled “e-Visaâ€) process them. I too wasn’t up for waiting in line. I definitely recommend e-Visa for fiends, family and interested people, as well as Cambodia for an amazing experience. Keep up the top work.Robert Cheung:
2008-06-03 02:05:16 The application for e-Visa to Cambodia is a fast and efficient way. It only takes less than a day to obtain our visa. You don’t need travel agent to do it for you. It saves you a lot of time.Michael:
2008-06-03 18:10:54 An amazingly efficient process. We submitted our applications 10.30 pm in the evening and the approval came back the next morning. Many thanks – why cannot other countries do the same?Loren:
2008-06-04 03:21:50 The e-visa process is fabulous. It was very quick, easy, and efficient. My only complaint is that Cambodia charges both $25 for the visa and a $25 departure tax (for adults), which is a bit much. I really like the system, though.Balaji Thirumalai:
2008-06-05 14:00:43 Excellent system with fast and efficient service! This is a system which other countries particularly developed ones need to adopt. Keep up the good work!Cecille D.W. Whipple:
2008-06-05 22:57:43 Fast and efficient service! I had a wonderful time in Cambodia. I will visit again, and this time I will bring my family.

Dear sir or madam,
Gianni Apolito and me (Italian) have received the approved Cambodia e-Visa: 1008060001553 and 1008060001555 by mail.
After your last mail (Ogg: Latest updates on Cambodia e-Visa) we need to know if they are stille valid? Because we took the visa before the 28th of June 2008, are there any problem to enter in Cambodia with them?
What shall we do now?
Please, write us soon.

July 3rd, 2008 at 12:37 pm
Whomever,
Okay, so I just ate $25 for a visa I’ll have to buy again-I’ll live.
What I’m really concerned about is the integrity of my credit card information I used to buy the visa I’ll never get.
What is being done to protect this info, if at all?
See you in a couple days…

I paid for Cambodia e-visa 1 month ago.
At the moment I wasn’t too sure when I was going there.
So I left it for a while.
I decided to go there on 1st July so I accessed to Cambodia e-visa on 29th June.
But I couldn’t find it out.
I didn’t get any information about it and I’d already booked a tour to go to Angkor.
I didn’t have any choices except I had to pay for visa at the border between Thailand and Cambodia, though I’d already payed for it on the Internet.
I’m so disappointed in Cambodia government as I believed that they controlled the web site properly.

I paid for the cambodian e-visa last week, and when i tried to print it out, i wasn’t able to open the web site, and i already got my airline tickets.
so what i’m suppose to do? i’m a bit disappointed on the management of the web site, and the e-visa problem.

Although the E-Visa website was suspended from 28 June, I have been able to apply for the E-Visa after the suspension using the following link:
http://www.mfaic.gov.kh/e-visa/vindex.aspx
Also another link (http://www.mfaic.gov.kh/e-visa/track.aspx?lng=Eng) explains that the service has not been suspended, just that the authorities are upgrading their system
July 3rd, 2008 at 2:10 pm
Dear Team,
same problem as above. Bought and paid 4 visas, can’t access them now. Would appreciate it, Ãf you could send me a short email about further process.
Tks and best regards! Anna

Does this mean that the visa I applied for is now void?
July 3rd, 2008 at 3:38 pm
I purchased my visa on the 25th of July through Paypal. I never received the evisa. It wasn’t until I got online to find out its status that I discovered there was a problem with the site. I am leaving for Vietnam in a few days and will probably have to find another solution to my Cambodia Visa problem and try and get it issued another way.
July 3rd, 2008 at 3:49 pm
just a quick question. how is it possible that you have my email address (I have used it evisa months ago, but left in on the official website of Gov. of Cambodia)?

I am pleased to say that I obtained my Cambodian e-visa quickly and easily last month! The electronic processing was fast and user friendly. If there were circumstances which may have caused frustration among customers, I certainly was not among them. I’m sorry if anyone experienced problems. The service was a great convenience for me! Thank you! Russ Miller

I received a visa for myself and my wife on June 9 via Cambodia’s on-line service. Does this ‘disturbance’ suggest that our visas will not be accepted?

Looking through the “new” site as stated above, I did the following:
1. Clicked on “Apply Now” button and selected a 1 person.
2. Looked through the information displayed.
3. Clicked on “View more samples” for the pictures and to my surprise, I get this blog!
http://www.cambodiaevisa.com/2007/11/14/e-visa-photo-team/
Admin, what’s really going on with the site?
July 4th, 2008 at 12:05 am
For those seeking a refund for their paid visa, visit paypal.com and lodge a complaint against the company name for the evisa, they will refund your amount, if you used a visa card or such, your money will be refunded and visa will go after the evisa company.
For those who do not know how to use the internet or know how to travel in Asia, you can apply for a visa on arrival, (fill out the forms on the plane) and make sure you have a passport picture and 20 US$ with you. And for the person who stated ealier, yes, it is 25 US$ to depart the country, whether you have an evisa or not, it is depatrure tax.
Hope this information helps.
July 4th, 2008 at 12:20 am
Admin,
New Website is not trying to mislead readers here, they are simple stating what is on the other site. Can you advise if this new site is legitimate or not?
July 4th, 2008 at 12:23 am
This is very strange and it will be very inconvenient for the travelers!
Hope the website will be back on again soon because it’s just great!
July 4th, 2008 at 1:22 am
We have already got visas for Vietnam & Thaialnd and I was going to apply today for our visa to Combodia. I am very upset about this as we will be leaving Australia on the 11 July. Is there any other way to get a express visa?
July 4th, 2008 at 1:24 am
Hi Yan,
Just fill out the application on the plane and when you land, have your photo available and turn in your passport, application, and photo, then move to the next counter and when they hold up your passport, give them 20 US$, only takes a few minutes more to process than an evisa.
Cheers
July 4th, 2008 at 2:03 am
Its sad there has been so much trouble with the evisas. my friend and i travelled last month and doing the visa online was very easy. easier than the trip i had to take to get a vietnamese visa.
However, as we flew from bangkok into siam reap, and arrived later at night, i think we took roughly the same amount of time to get through as the people who did it on the spot. if you are taking a similar route to us, doing it on the spot is about the same as applying ahead of time.
For me, Cambodia was the highlight of our very short rushed trip, please dont let this trouble with evisa put you off going. and dont let rude officials put you off either. they have the capacity for rudeness regardless of nationality.
happy travelling!

To whom it may concern:
I have applied for e-Visa on July 1st. I checked the status of my e-Visa, it is “approved”. I also have received an email containing the e-Visa downloading link. But when I click the link, no downloading process started, an error reporting page came out instead. I tried to download from the “Check and Change” page, the same problem occured.
My wife has applied for the e-Visa on the same day as I did, she successfully downloaded the file and printed out. I don’t know what’s wrong with the system. As my flight is on July 10th, I’m quite frustrated with this e-Visa problem, please give me reply ASAP!!!!

Dear Lee Thayer,
Thank you very much for pointing out the various issues above.
At Cambodiaevisa.com, we are helping to resolve situations faced by travelers who are stucked with their evisa applications (as you can see here). If the system had been migrated with proper procedures and protocols taken, this would not have happened in the first place. This only leads to the speculations from travelers that the previous website has been hijacked:
We did not specifically commented on the new URL http://www.mfaic.gov.kh/e-visa/vindex.aspx because like all the travelers who are not able to print out their evisa, we have not been notified in advanced by the authorities about the said “upgrade” and the previous website was de-commissioned abruptly.
We’ve listed down the various discrepancies that only helps us to believe that this is not an upgrade exercise, as the Commentator “NEW WEBSITE” stated. Again, here’s an excerpt:
Also, thanks to Lee Thayer’s tips, we truly encourage all travelers who’re having problem with their visas to follow his advice. If you need further clarifications, please contact the emails and phone numbers that we’ve listed above.
To clarify the role of Cambodiaevisa.com, we are the Blog team that is providing extra information and assitance to travelers who are using the previous evisa system- http://evisa.mfaic.gov.kh. However, since the website was removed, we realized that there are many approved evisa applications still stuck in the previous evisa system. We are now doing our best to assist these “orphaned” evisa applicants in getting their passage through the Cambodia borders and also to escalate this problem to the relevant authorities.
Also, referring to Lee Thayer’s comment here, what was meant by “misleading the readers here” when “NEW WEBSITE” posted these comments is that “NEW WEBSITE” mentioned that in the email sent from Cambodiaevisa.com, we mentioned that the eVisa system has been shut down. This was not the case. In the email, we merely pointed out that the previous eVisa system has been removed and there’s no further notifications on what to do next.
This Blog (Cambodiaevisa.com) is doing our best to solve this issue and if you have any solution and feedbacks, please share it here.

I have applied for my e-visa bout one month ago and I have received the visa certificate. Is it still valid? The money has also been taken off my credit card.
I found the system extremely good and I really hope that it will be up and running again soon. Good luck.

The link sent to me to download my evisa doesn’t work. The money’s been taken off my credit card already. I really hope to get either my evisa or my money back.

hey e-visa team.
I have applied for the e-vias, paid the fee, and recieved the mail

I hope that either the money will be returned, or an active link with
my PAID visa will be sent to me. This is my visa nr.: 1008060005233
thanks beforehand for fixing this,

But if you read the mesage .. like I did not it says the email was a fault. I Just wish they would have send us another email stating this was the case and secondly for the above link to actually work so I could verify my evisa number that was given.

Further to my previous post, this is the email I just received from paypal.com:
I should have listened to my mom more when I was a kid: if something seems too good to be true (or in this case, too easy) than it probably is.
July 4th, 2008 at 4:07 am
Hi, my question is when will this e-visa application entry open again? or we should go to consulate for the visa application now, it seems that it is the only choice for us?
July 4th, 2008 at 4:16 am
The Cambodian government REALLY needs some guidance with its Public Relations. All the Ministry of Interior had to do was to post a notice stating the e-visa site was being moved to a more secure domain…whatever. I guess they are doing whatever they please to whomever they please without consideration of the consequences. The same behavior is displayed by the government here.
Everything will work out, in Hun Sen’s time.
July 4th, 2008 at 4:23 am
Yolanda, you can apply on arrival at both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap International Airport.
July 4th, 2008 at 4:28 am
Dear Kyle K,
We are sorry that you are having problems with the refund.
For your information, the previous eVisa system has been running for more than 2 years and processed more than 70,000 eVisa applications.
We are still waiting for the response from the authorities on this matter.
Dear Jim in Vietnam,
It’s a pity that this matter is overlooked. We do hope this will all work out fine.

really do not wantto give credit card details over unsecured link or pay twice i would rather not go than pay 1200 baht bribe at border and dont tell me its $20 PLUS $5 as they would not take dollars of me last time. 1200 baht now worth at least $35

me and my girlfriend WE PAYED for the VISA and we received a confirmation e-mail with the VISA.
It was impossible to print it starting from the 28 of June.
Please send us a certificate to show when we will go to Cambogia or tell us what to do
